Gladys Rivera
Gladys Alamo Rivera

The youngest of 10 siblings, Gladys was born in Hatillo, Puerto Rico. While growing up in PR, she had always enjoyed drawing and painting all the beautiful things experienced in life on the island and it’s lovely heritage. She later moved to Brooklyn, NY in the late 1960s pursuing a career in the art industry in New York.

After getting married and having 2 kids, she and her family moved to Old Bridge, NJ in the early 1990s. Here, she was able to dedicate more time to painting and in the past few years she has been able to accomplish her dreams of selling her art to different venues including the shoppes at Old San Juan in Puerto Rico and at the The Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts in Frederiksted, Virgin Islands (St. Croix).   She has also ben featured in expositions at The Artisan Collective gallery of Red Bank, NJ and is a member of Toms River Artist Community (TRAC).

Gladys now lives in Toms River, NJ and is the recipient of several awards for her unique, inspiring art and specializes in acrylic paintings – many of which are themed on her Puerto Rican heritage.  To contact Gladys, please send inquiries to gladys@galamor.us
